The Woman In Black
A development portrait of a scene from the film. I rarely do portraits; I was aiming for a victorian etch/cross hatch/old look.

Potential Logo?
Self branding. Maybe i'm jumping too far ahead just whipping one up in a small space. I want to use a logo of some sort because my full name is way to long. I'm thinking more of a website really, I want my website to be really minimal. I don't want it to be boring type/really restricted, because its not what i'm about. Sod complying to things lol.
Its basically self explanatory ( I hope lol). Engage pointless, patronising explanation:
C + @ (at) = Cat, add a little ear on the 'c' and the @ coloured in pink to represent a nose = a cat face/my nickname. Better than trying to get a whole 'Catherine Bennett' into a minimalistic logo! I done so many variations using different characters, but this is my favourite one.

Vaughan Oliver magazine workshop
This week we had a small two day workshop on 'elevating the banal.' I really enjoyed this project because we were able to bring highlight to objects that we always overlook, and allow them to become beautiful in their own way. I was grouped with Sarah King and Katie Hilton, and together we made a small magazine of found objects that appeared to discarded and forgotten.
It is uploaded on Issuu, please take a gander! Link below! :D

Little White Lies
Cover of 'Little White Lies' which is based around the successful 'Woman In Black' movie. This cover could potentially change as I am developing spreads. This was created by submerging an inky portrait of a woman in water to represent the marsh, whilst focusing on the idea of 'fear' with the distorted style. I created my own experimental type and finished the captions off with a typewriter font to represent that era.

Experimental Typefaces
Two potential typefaces for my current project. I'm not concerned whether they are legible because i'm focusing on fear.
